SOTR: ColdFusion & PDF - Improving Your Workflow
May 7, 2009 · 1 Comment
Placing an order, or receiving an order for some goods or services can be a long drawn out process involving: completing numerous forms, requiring multiple authorising signatures, providing different personnel with a copy of all the forms, waiting on finance to provide a Purchase Order number and so on. There's nothing good about this process.
With the release of ColdFusion 8, the ability to utilise PDFs in our applications surpassed the ability to simply make web pages printable.
In particular we can now work with PDF forms, and in this session, being presented at both London and Edinburgh, yours truly will show how we can integrate these into our applications and help streamline the workflow process.

I attended your presentation (nice work) at Scotch on Monday and it really opened my eyes as to what can be done with pdfs. I have downlaoded a trial version of Live Cycle Designer but am now a little confused as to how to proceed.
Would you be able to share with me how you can push and retreive values from a pdf? Or if you could point me towards any online sources that would be great.
