ColdFusion & PDF: Improving Your Workflow @ CFUnited

June 9, 2009 · 3 Comment s

Now that Scotch is out of the way , conference wise I need to turn my attention to CFUnited.

I'm going to be presenting on ColdFusion & PDF: Improving Your Workflow. I gave this talk at Scotch this year, and it went down pretty well, especially in Manchester. I have a few things up my sleeve for the version I will present at CFUnited including a few added extras for PDF forms, and some AIR / PDF integration.

So ... prepare yourselves ... I'm heading to the US and I'm bringing the badgers!

I really enjoyed the talk you gave. It was not my 'cup or tea', but you were explaining a problem most of us have come across at some point. Getting anything approved can be a pain! I can imagine it will go down well with the managers and department heads etc @ CFUnited.

Is the demo you showed an actual product you produced, sell? Does it have any way to inform a user then have pending forms i.e. SMS or email notifications?

@Glyn: Yeah, people think I'm strange for liking PDFs :)

The app does indeed have Email notifications. It would be easy to add IM notifications, and indeed SMS alerts - though we're more likely to implement that on a per deployment basis.

One thing I am going to add is an AIR interface to the app, and we'll implement alerts in there directly.

@Sam thank you sir ... hopefully everyone will like what's on offer :)
