London Next Week, UKCFUG
January 07, 2009 · 5 Comment s
As of yet, my lovely wife Leanne and I, have failed to go on a honeymoon (we got married November 8th). In fact, our honeymoon may even end up being CFUnited in August (followed by a week in New York), but to tide us over, we're heading to London next week to see a few friends, etc. London is effectively a second home to me as I'm there on business that often, but Leanne has never seen outside of Heathrow airport when it comes to her experience of London.
Anyway, out trip coincides with the UKCFUG meeting with Railo's Gert Franz, and as Gert was at our wedding, Leanne and myself are going to pop into the UG meeting to say hello, and leave Fuzzy Orange stickers all over Mark Drew's desk (the meetings are held at DesignUK's office, which is of course where Mark works).
Hopefully I'll see a few other London CFers kicking about the meeting too.

ColdFusion 8 Presentation, Friday, Aberdeen
February 26, 2008 · 4 Comment s
I'm up in sunny Aberdeen this Friday (which is also the last day of the early bird pricing for Scotch on the Rocks), giving a presentation on ColdFusion 8.
Fuzzy Orange will also be sponsoring the event so that everyone gets some food and a few beers.
Additionally, I will also be giving away a ticket to Scotch on the Rocks.
The presentation will be aimed at both experienced and novice ColdFusion developers. Heck, if you're a PHP/.NET/Java/Ruby/etc developer and want to know what the fuss is all about, come along.
See you on Friday.

Just a reminder that I'll be in Edinburgh this Wednesday (12th) to bring some of the local CF folks together for a bit of lunch, and to talk shop.
We're meeting in the The Cambridge bar from 12.30, so if you can make it, I shall see you there.

Just a reminder that there is a group of us meeting in Aberdeen this Friday to talk all things ColdFusion.
This will be the first time the User Group has ventured north to the Granite City, and although I've not managed to blag any software to give away, I've got a huge box of other swag to give out.
We're meeting in the Robert Gordon University Student Union from 4.30pm, and there will be food and lots of student priced beer!

Scottish ColdFusion User Group Mini Tour
August 29, 2007 · No Comments
September will see me perform a very small tour of some of the local cities to meet up with fellow ColdFusion developers.
No formal presentations, just a get together that will allow me to hook up with some folks, some old friends and hopefully some new. The idea is simply to talk shop, find out what folks are up to at work, what difficulties they are facing, what they think could be done to solve some of their problems and generally just have a chat.
Here's the current schedule:
- September 7th, Aberdeen
- September 11th, Glasgow
- September 12th, Edinburgh
I'll post more information, including times and venues when they are confirmed.
Hopefully I'll see a lot of folks there.
