Firefox update go boom:(
November 10, 2004 · No Comments
Last night I downloaded and installed Firefox v1.0 onto my home dev machine as well as my laptop and everything went sweetly. Both have been running Firefox(bird) since version 0.5 or so.
Today I decided to upgrade Firefox on my work machine and use the inbuild Software update to go from the Preview Release to v1.0 ... oh dear :(
Everything appeared to be OK, then boom, Firefox dies on it's bum, I get the Quality Feedback thingy and file a report. All I get from Firefox now is dead browser windows spewing XML nonsense everywhere.
Anyway, I've uninstalled it and am using Opera to write this blog entry (you didn't think I'd use IE did you) whilst I wait for Firefox to download so I can reinstall.
Downloaded and installed before I even get to submit this, and I'm pleased to see that all my extensions, themes, bookmarks etc are all still there... nice

Firefox Extensions
June 29, 2004 · No Comments
One of the best things about Mozilla Firefox is all the extensions and themes that are available for it.
One particular new extension has got me in stitches right now, and it's the Firesomething extension (can be found here).
What this little guy does is continuously change the name of the browser, so at the moment I'm using Mozilla Moonwhale as my browser :)

Firefox 0.9.1
June 29, 2004 · No Comments
An update to the recently released Mozilla FireFox browser has been made available. I can't as yet find specific information as to what has been updated/fixed in this .1 upgrade and it doesn't help that at this time the release notes are still for v0.9.
Anyway, you can get the update from Mozilla.
